Clear Guidelines for Article Processing Charge (APC) Refunds and Eligibility
General Policy
At Annals of Advances in Chemistry (AAC), we strive to provide transparent and fair publishing services. Authors are charged an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after their manuscript has been accepted for publication. As this fee covers peer review management, editorial evaluation, production, and digital archiving, refunds are generally not issued after payment.
Non-Refundable Scenarios
- Once the article is published online and assigned a DOI
- If production work (typesetting, formatting) has begun
- Voluntary author withdrawal after peer review approval
- Delayed or failed publication due to author non-response or non-compliance with submission guidelines
Refund Eligibility
- Duplicate payment or billing error
- Technical failure resulting in non-publication through no fault of the author
- Manuscript rejection after APC was mistakenly charged (rare, and only if no production was initiated)
Eligible refund requests must be submitted within 15 business days of payment and include proof of transaction and justification.
Refund Request Procedure
To initiate a refund request, authors must email the finance department at [email protected] with the following:
- Manuscript ID and title
- Payment receipt or transaction ID
- Reason for refund request
Refund Timeline
Refund requests will be reviewed within 7 working days. If approved, the refund will be processed through the original mode of payment within 10–15 working days.
